Our Values Our Mission Our Vision About Rachael
We are…
Our Values:
Integrity – staying true to ourselves, abiding by the International Coaching Federation coaching code of ethics and being honest in our interactions with internal and external people. Encouraging those we work with, and for, to do the same. Our Vision:
We will be an integral part in changing individual limited thinking to a global abundance and prosperity mindset. We will also be integral in assisting businesses in creating a phenomenal corporate culture that sees increased productivity, increased happiness in the workplace and a win win for employees and directors alike.
Our Beliefs:
• Every person has the potential to succeed to any level; if someone out there has done it, you can do it too.
Also known as NLP and is basically, in the simplest terms I can think of, the programming language for the mind. Now I'm going to describe it as much as possible in plain language but be warned, there is some technical jargon but I will do my best to give you meanings you can understand.
Think of your mind (Neuro - neurology - nervous system - the technical terms) as being this brand new super computer that hasn't come with a user manual! (Yes, I do have an IT background but I still promise to make this simple!)
Most people who use computers know that they click on particular buttons for certain things to happen. That can illustrate how the conscious and unconscious mind works. The clicking of a button is only 5% of the work that actually goes on, that's the 5% you are conscious of. 95% happens pretty much automatically in the background, you just know that clicking that button produces a particular result. That's the unconscious programming doing what it's programmed to do. So do we understand the computer analogy?
Ok, let's progress to how it relates to you. Your behaviour is the 95%, the 5 % is the stimulus or trigger for running the behavioural pattern/program. 5% you consciously think of, 95% just happens!
For instance, when you learnt to drive, you were completely conscious of what pedals to put your feet on, what gear to be in, where to look and when... that was all completely conscious but eventually it became natural and unconscious. I bet you can now drive, have a conversation on your phone, be thinking of what will be for dinner and rummage around for something you need in your handbag (ok, that last one was possibly just me!), but you don't think about what you need to do anymore, it's become an unconscious program you run! Click here: Drive car.
Brushing your teeth is also an unconscious program. You don't stand there and think "ok, now move muscle 13, 14, 17, rotate hand 10 degrees down...", you just do it and while your super computer brain is standing there, I bet it is thinking about anything other than brushing your teeth! You can run many programs simultaneously, it's that super!
Ok, so they are both physical programs you can run. What about other behaviours such as procrastination and self sabotage? Well there isn't a lot in the procrastination program (laughs), but inaction is still a part of a program. Self sabotage - you know when you're doing it, it's those times where you have a goal but the behavioural programs you run take you in the opposite direction. Ever been on a diet but find yourself putting a whole lot of junk food in your mouth? That's the 5% conscious "I want this goal" and the 95% unconscious programming that is going everywhere but!
Emotions are the effects of programs. So happiness, calmness, confidence, fear and guilt are all results of programs you run. Depression can also be considered result of a program, and I know that pushes up against some peoples boundaries but think about it for a second. A person is quite happily running through life (and we know this because they don't mostly do depression every second of every day), then something happens (a trigger occurs) and then they run the program which may include specific thoughts, feelings, physiological changes and the result is the feeling of depression.
Ok, so we've established that we run a number of programs and the results can be determined in how we feel and how we end up behaving. So how does NLP help?
I'm so glad you asked! Like I said earlier, NLP is the programming language for the mind. Using NLP we can determine the programming that is running and then reprogram it to get a different result. Imagine changing procrastination into motivation, or uncovering the programming that causes self sabotage, or changing the programming that creates depression!
NLP is not only good for reprogramming negative behaviours but for accelerating positive results using a method called Modelling. This is where you find someone who is achieving the results you want and modelling their programs to achieve the same results. If you want to achieve greater wealth, a long term healthy weight, create a phenomenal relationship with a life partner or just achieve a specific goal, then NLP can assist you in accelerating that.
NLP has many uses and potentially can assist everyone with something, which is why I've found it difficult to narrow down what I do. If you have a particular issue or result you feel NLP could assist you with that isn't listed, please ask! Also if you still don't have a basic understanding about what NLP is and how it can assist you, please contact us!
